Delta West Academy

Where bright futures begin!

Why Delta West Academy?

Delta means "the difference in" or "the change in". Delta West Academy chose the delta symbol to represent the fundamental mission of our school community - to make a difference and create change in the lives of our students.

Explore the DWA difference and discover what encourages all of our students to strive for academic excellence and personal bests. It's the best way to begin a bright future.

Kindergarten - Get the best start!

Elementary - Small classes to challenge growing minds

Junior High - Thriving rather than just surviving

Senior High - Getting ready for university

January Highlights...

  • To warm up against the chill of winter, Friday the 15 is Pyjama Day!  Everyone including staff wear their PJ's and bring their favourite blankies, stuffies, slippers and robes.  It's a wonderful way to get over the winter blues and relax before exams.
  • Yoga is another way to destress during exams and the PE department has schedule a yoga unit at just the right time for junior and senior high students this month.
  • Midterm and final exams are scheduled from January 15 to 28.  Study well!
  • DWA is hosting an OPEN HOUSE on Saturday, January 23.  Interested families are invited to attend the 10 am discussion tour which lasts approximately an hour. Meet the principal,  Mrs. Carola Tiltmann and Director of Admissions, Mrs. Amanda Dennis, and have all of your questions answered.  Families who attend and subsequently register have the application fee waived; another good reason to see how DWA can make a difference in your child's educational journey.
  • Los Angeles is the arrival destination for the Grade 10 students from January 26 to 29.  The main focus is an all-day immersion program at the  Museum of Tolerance in the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Coming face to face with one's own biases and prejudices and learning how those same ideas have shaped our world history is a very powerful experience. For some teens, it is life-changing!
  • January 29 is Shadow Day.  Prospective students and friends of current students "live" a school day at DWA.  It's the very best way to see what DWA has to offer and why small classes in a small school is the real double advantage!
