Frequently Asked Questions

Are there scholarships or bursaries available for new students?

Yes! Bursaries and scholarships for new eligible students are available and are tax exempt. We believe that a DWA education provides a very strong foundation for future success and excellent opportunties at university. That is why Delta West is commited to providing access to eligible families. If you are interested in pursuing one of these options, please indicate your interest to the Director of Admissions.

How do Delta West students do in University?

Extremely well! An average of 96% of graduating students receive early admissions to the university or post-secondary programs of their choice. DWA students have been recruited by top universities in Canada and the United States, and can fully expect the successful completion of their chosen programs. DWA students are very well prepared to enter university once they have successfully completed the rigorous DWA high school program.

Is there a supervised lunch program?

Yes. The supervised lunch for elementary and junior high students is followed by the students' second recess of the day which is also supervised. There is no fee for the supervised lunch and students have access to microwaves in their lunchrooms.

Why is Delta West not in the Fraser Report?

The Fraser Institute only reports on schools with class sizes of 15 or larger. DWA's average class size is 10, therefore we are not included in their calculations, nor ranked against other schools. However, DWA has excellent results. On provincial Acheivement Exams, we boast a 100% Acceptable Standard for all of our students in every subject and every grade, with very high percentages of the Standard of Excellence.
